Be like a tree and let the dead leaves drop. – Rumi
We are in a powerful turn of the spiral – of Samhain, the time when the veils are thinning. The growing season is over. Our harvesting of what has grown in the garden of life is complete as the cold wind blows across the firm soil. We are called to feel the inner movement towards winter stillness here in the northern hemisphere. Are you ready to release what no longer serves you? This is the blessing of Samhain. This is a time to connect with the ancestral realms…to begin our movement inward.
At this hallowed time, the Ancestors stand in the gateway between the worlds waiting for your invitation to call them forth – to commune and receive the gifts of their power and spiritual gifts that they hold sacred. Let’s celebrate our ancestors by honouring the wisdom that has culminated within us while being willing to die to our inherited patterns and beliefs. Let us draw on the wisdom of the Earth Mother through our roots, the cosmic insights of spiritual lineages long past and the stargazing wonders through our branches to gather this juicy nectar and bind it all together into mulch of new fertile ground at our core.
Death is not something to be feared. In fact, in the cycle of birthing… our babies, projects, creation of new relationships, we must empty out first… to die to the old structures and self-identity that filters the purity of an emerging rebirth. By recognizing death as our ally, we can witness how this energy is a constant reminder of how intensely precious and beautiful life truly is.
Here, in the cosmic womb of all creation, a woman will find the luminous threads she holds from her ancestors within her own womb, in the cycles of her bleeding time and how she awakens to and embodies the wild mystery.
You cannot search for the Ancient of Ways. They will come to you when you’re open to receive… when the veil between the worlds becomes thinner such as today at Hallows ‘Eve, calling you deeper into the birthing channels of Her creative flow. What are you willing to die to… to let go of… to surrender more deeply into the mystery?
Without the mulching of a death, there cannot be life. Death creates a space of rebirth for creation to emerge fresh and new in a way that serves the whole.
The same is true for your self, your relationships and your business. If you don’t let certain agreements or creations ‘die’, you carry them around with you… slowing you down or even stopping your evolving success and further fulfillment. There are creations that may not hold your interest anymore, there’s no joy in the connection or it’s simply become less meaningful or irrelevant to your unfolding life. In fact, you must release ‘how you hold’ your lover, your children, or your client so you can witness them with fresh eyes and offer new opportunities to be in connection together.
It can be challenging to release a relationship from one state into another (a client into a former client or deeper evolution, an active program into obscurity, a way of being with your family or lover). And yet, you MUST allow the endings in order to have new beginnings. That is the cycle of dynamic life force in active presentation.
I invite you to consider the following in celebrating this Rite of Passage for reclaiming Ancient Wisdom in the here and now:
- What beliefs must die in order to be who you truly are in your relationships and partnerships?
- What shadows must you love free in order to move your next most empowered level of living?
- What products, ideas, or programs must you release and/or refresh?
- What conversation or action step is necessary to compassionately release a relationship that has come to pass?
- What roles must you release in order to stand in the truth of your feminine flow?
- What cords must be cut to free up your energy?
- What devotional practice is calling you in order to fulfill and nurture your soul?
Celebrate the positive ending or closer (the ‘death’) as a space for new beginnings. Inevitably, in honouring a completion, a new opportunity for creation and/or relationship is just around the corner for the expression of new life and renewed beauty.
And so it is with our ancestors. When they make the transition into a field of energy marked by their soul, they gift their creative gifts back to us – passing on a fractal lineage of spiritual power. If we are not present enough to this wave of offering, then it is deposited and left behind at the tops of mountains as they leave the Earth-bound reality.
- Honor nature’s life cycle as a turning within.
- Celebrate the thinning of the veils between two worlds by honouring your ancestors.
- Listen to your ancestors and hear the wisdom they are sharing at this potent time.
- Deepen into remembrance of what you are called to release into the darkness.
- Ground your roots into the earth so they may be nourished.
Enter the intimacy of your heart and womb as you explore what is in completion and what may be lovingly transformed as a seed of potential.
Make an offering to your Ancestors as an altar of blessing!
